8. Harry’s Close Shave With Filch And Snape – The Goblet Of Fire
‘The Egg and the Eye’ is one of the most intense chapters in the novels. Though the first half is pretty light-hearted, the second half is loaded with suspense.
After leaving the Prefects’ Bathroom with the golden egg, Harry walks back through the castle wearing his Invisibility Cloak. Unfortunately for him, he gets his leg stuck in one of the castle’s many trick steps. He then drops the golden egg, and before long, Snape and Filch turn up to investigate the source of the noise.
Of course, they can’t see Harry because he’s under his Invisibility Cloak, but Snape comes within inches of discovering him. And had it not been for Mad-Eye Moody’s help, Harry would have been caught.
A TV show would be the ideal way of bringing this non-essential yet enjoyable scene to life. The moment Snape starts moving towards Harry would be gripping television. And with an intense musical score to go with it, viewers would be on the edge of their seats.
