Harry Potter: 10 Plot Points That No One Will Ever Agree On

9. Goblet Of Fire

Harry Potter Diggory When asking people to rank their favorite Harry Potter books, Goblet of Fire is usually toward the top. It has a fun plot with just the right amount of ominous, there are lots of new characters, and the trio is beginning to grow up. There's a ball and a brawl. A good guy finally dies and he isn't coming back. It's a great read. The only problem is that the plot revolves around a totally overly-elaborate scheme to snatch Harry out of the safety of Hogwarts. The ending with the maze and graveyard was so spellbinding (haha, get it?) to read that you almost don't want to realize that Crouch/Moody could have just kept Harry after class one day and turned a teacup into a Portkey. Easy. No complicated scheme with a whole lot of variables that could ruin it all. Granted, Crouch was crazy and Voldemort had a flair for the dramatics, but it could have been so easy... Or it doesn't matter because that's not supposed to be the point at all.
