Harry Potter And The Cursed Child: Everything You Need To Know

3. It's A Sequel

As most people were expecting a prequel, presumably Dumbledore's earlier years, most people are sceptical about the idea of the play being a prequel. The Cursed Child is Harry's son, Albus Severus, and the eighth part of the Harry Potter franchise revolves around how the Potter family are coping in the wizarding world straight from where the Deathly Hallows left off. But what does Albus Severus have to complain about exactly? Other than the fact that it looks as though was named after by an avid HP fan... But Harry didn't even know his parents and grew up with the legacy of their death. He also grew up in a world where the most evil wizard of all time was trying to kill him every year AFTER his school exams. Say what you want about Voldemort, but he cared about Harry's education. Although it was a struggle for Harry growing up without his parents, you wouldn't describe his life as cursed as he is truly blessed by the support and love he receives from his friends. Here is the official synopsis:
"It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn€™t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."
