5. No 3G?
The most hotly contested rumour attached to the iPad Mini is that it will only come with WiFi connectivity and not 3G or 4G capabilities.
The Guardian suggested that the Mini would only come out as a Wi-Fi only version, much like the Nexus 7 and the standard Kindle Fire, but in contrast to Apple's previous iPads, all of which have 3G or 4G capabilities...
Apple's expected "iPad mini" will only come in a Wi-Fi version but there will also be a revised version of the iPad with 4G connectivity compatible with the UK's Everything Everywhere network, and sporting the new "Lightning" connector, industry sources have told the Guardian.
On the other hand, some other sources, including the LATimes, suggest that the Mini will actually come with cellular connectivity though, and there is some suggestion that the decision not to feature 3G or 4G connectivity would be a major mistake, especially with 4G about to be launched by EE. The list of SKUs below, seems to suggest that the Mini will indeed come with 3G and 4G connectivity, as well as a WiFi only unit. The three different versions of the four different model types (relating to memory size) designated "GOOD", "BETTER", and "BEST" are presumed to be related to those connectivity options.
