If youre a die-hard Apple fanboy (or girl) then youll know that the rumour mills have been in overdrive about the possibility of an iPhone 6c. Youve probably been waiting for the much-needed upgrade since its half-hearted release two years ago and you may be in for a surprise. The current C model turned 2 in September and its current 8GB form is not only unappealing to consumers, but those who are stuck with it sit in pain whenever the next iOS update comes along. Because the tech company has seemed to phase out the 'C' model, not only in terms of storage space but, the birth of the plus models saw a move away from cheaper devices, this led to questions about whether it'll be the only model of the colourful, plastic iPhone. Earlier in 2015, most were convinced that Apple had decided to ditch the colours from its iPhone line-up, but reports keep on appearing suggesting that an smaller iPhone 6c might launch 2016.
Wheres The Proof?: Many people - wrongly - suggested that the iPhone 6c would launch alongside the 6s in September but knowing Apple they never launch anything until theyre ready. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, along with many others, has set a date around Q2 in 2016 for the launch, some predicting earlier. Kuo wasn't the only person to mention it. Japanese site Mac Otakara claims that what will potentially be the new entry iPhone has already entered production and will start shipping in the next few months. According to DigiTimes
sources the iPhone 6c will launch in the second-quarter of 2016. It may not even be named the iPhone 6c, but if they're planning to follow their previous trends it may come at the same time as the iPhone 7 and could possibly come under the name iPhone 7c.
