There was only ever going to be one winner in the WhatCulture rankings and that was the Studio Tour.

There is no other attraction like it anywhere else. If you ride one thing make it this.

Originally opening over 100 years ago, the Studio Tour has managed to survive several fires and still stands as the epic masterpiece of Universal Studios Hollywood.

The tour takes you on a tram journey through the backlots of Universal Studios where you can spot some very famous scenes. With views of the mansion house from Psycho, Whoville, the wild west and War of the Worlds you can see behind the scenes of some of the most famous sites in movie history.

There are also some small staged events that take place on the tour. Get up-close and personal with Jaws, Norman Bates may make an appearance at the Bates Motel and you could find yourself in the middle of a flash flood.

What truly makes this tram ride so good is the tour guides. They really know their stuff. On the day our tour guide Zan was a delight.

The tour also has two big attractions built into it; King Kong 360 3D and Fast & Furious: Supercharged.

Make sure you pick up your 3D glasses at the start of the ride to enjoy these experiences. We weren't sure just how the tour would pull off these shows but they work incredibly well. Your tour bus will drive into a well themed soundstage where you will experience a ride to remember.

King Kong 360 3D was created with the help Peter Jackson and the talented folks over at Weta. Here you will find your tram has been transported to Skull Island, where you are in the middle of an epic battle between a T-Rex and Kong.

In the Fast & Furious: Supercharged part of the tour, you will join the cast of one of Universal's most successful franchises. After spotting Dominic Toretto in Wisteria Lane, you will finish the tour in a high speed race as movie villain Owen Shaw aims to get revenge.

Depending on where you sit on the tram you get a different experience of the 3D attractions. As the movies play on a 360 degree screen, you don't miss any out on any of the action, but you do get a better view of what is going on in different areas of the tram.

The tour itself can last between 45mins to an hour, there's so much going on the time really does fly. We recommend riding at least twice and try to sit on different sides of the tram. That way you won't miss anything.

If you a film or tv fan you really must ride this attraction. Not only will you learn lots about the movie making process but you the tour offers some unique experiences.
