Top 10 Interactive Google Doodles

6. Qixi Festival / Chilseok: August 13th 2013

Quix Doodle The Qixi Festival / Chilseok doodle is one that I imagine the majority of you never saw, as it only appeared in Asia. On the 7th day of the 7th month in the lunar calendar Asian countries celebrate a story about two lovers who are only allowed to meet on this particular night, but they are separated by a giant river. Fortunately the story goes that a group of birds build a bridge where the two meet. The resulting doodle is a small game where players must place the birds in the correct position in order to form a bridge where the two lovers will meet. Whilst it sounds quite simple the game is quite challenging as the birds are flying around the screen thus being difficult to grab. A time limit is also used to provide further challenge, so if you don€™t build a bridge in time the lovers are going to end up falling into the river (by way of a hilarious image). The bridges you must build become more challenging as the levels progress with the third and final level being particularly tough. Not only is this doodle a fun, and at times frustrating game, it is also one that shows how much Google values the eastern audience. This doodle only went live in seven countries but yet it will have taken weeks to make, and test. The Qixi Festival / Chilseok doodle is defiantly a fun one to check out, and it will most likely teach you something about Asian traditions.
