Hitzfeld is retiring from managing after the World Cup, and when that happens it will be the end of an excellent career. Hes managed to lead Switzerland to a fair amount of success, including getting them to a point where they were a seeded team in this years tournament. Hitzfeld also managed them at the last World Cup, where they famously beat Spain 1-0, although they didnt make it out of the group. They will hope for better results this year. In Switzerland and Germanys domestic leagues, however, hes had an abundance of success. He managed both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, winning a Champions League at both clubs, and winning seven Bundesliga titles between the two. Theres a reason that many consider him the best manager to ever grace the Bundesliga. Now hell try to go down as a Swiss legend as well.
