10 Bizarre Jose Mourinho Moments

9. Conspiracy Victim

Jose Mourinho is a very successful manager - that's a fact. No boss can end every single season on top though. Rather than realising this is the way of the world, Mourinho is just as likely to claim that dark forces are working against him when he doesn't get his own way. This "batten down the hatches, the world is attacking us" mentality can create a bullish team strength that powers his sides forwards. Or it can make him look, well, slightly unhinged.

In 2014, he accused the media, commentator and his fellow Premier League managers of putting pressure on referees to go after his Chelsea side.

"There is a campaign against Chelsea. I do not know why there is this campaign and I do not care", he told reporters after a 1-1 draw against Southampton where a penalty decision wasn't given in his favour. He was charged £25,000 for his comments.

Despite the fine, later that same season he would reiterate his claims. After a game against Manchester United, Mourinho expressed his conspiracy concerns once again after Anders Herrera received a booking for diving for a penalty.

"I'm happy that was not a Chelsea player", he said, "because if it was then Sky would be talking about 'crimes', 'cheating' and 'fair play' but because he's a Man United player then tomorrow nobody remembers".
