4. Newcastle United 7-1 Spurs

It was Saturday the 28th of December in 1996 and the venue was St. James' Park in Newcastle. It was back when Newcastle United were big time players in the Premier League, having seen a massive change in fortunes under the leadership of club legend Kevin Keegan. Coming in to the match, however, they had actually gone seven games without a win and had lost any hope of mounting a title challenge and Spurs felt the full force of the backlash of that poor run of form. Two goals each from club legend Alan Shearer, future Spurs striker Les Ferdinand and midfielder Rob Lee, as well as a goal from defender Phillipe Albert gave Newcastle a seven-goal lead. Danish international Allan Nielsen pulled one back for Spurs with a minute to go, but it was obviously a mere consolation if it can even be called that.
