10 Emotional Moments That Made Footballers Cry

9. Cristiano Ronaldo - Euro 2004 Final

To be honest, you could write a book on the amount of times Ronaldo€™s bubbled whilst playing football. He must have dodgy tear ducts or something. Along with scoring goals, preening, posing and being generally half decent at kicking a ball about, crying seems to be high up on the list of spectacular talents that Ronaldo possesses. He whinged happy tears when Man Utd won the Champions League in 2008. He blubbed when Man Utd lost the 2005 FA Cup Final. He bawled his little eyes dry when he won the Ballon d€™Or in 2013. He€™s a sensitive soul is Ronaldo. But he most famously cried, understandably, as a spaghetti-legged 19 year old after Portugal were beaten in the final of Euro 2004 against the world footballing superpower that was Greece. If he hadn€™t been such a showboating little sod you might have felt sorry for him but as it is, the entire nation just chuckled at his misfortune. Of course, he€™d eventually have the last laugh. Just look at him now.
