10 Emotional Moments That Made Footballers Cry

8. Pele - 1958 World Cup Final

Arguably the greatest footballer ever to play the beautiful game, it all started for Pele and his genius during the 1958 World Cup as bright eyed 17 year old. He dazzled and delighted in the final itself scoring two goals against host nation Sweden with a precocious ability that would catapult him to international recognition. At the final whistle, his team mates hoisted him up on their shoulders and paraded him around the pitch as if he was the Jules Rimet trophy itself. This shy and overwhelmed teenager couldn€™t contain himself, laughing and crying in floods of tears. The image of an innocent kid playing the game he loves still resonates through generation after generation of footballer and fan alike. Iconic.
