8. Will Hughes
Nigel French/EMPICS SportThis technically superb youngster has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs over the past few years, but he will be much better off staying at Derby Country and progressing naturally. This week, he signed a new four year deal with the Championship club. That should allow him to go from strength to strength under their tutelage, before making the step up when he is truly ready. The 19 year old does struggle physically at times but that is to be expected. He must get stronger if he is to become a top player. That is one of the few areas of his game which could do with improvement. He really must improve his strength. The dynamic midfielder isn't gifted with great pace but his knack for utilizing the subtle nuances of the game help him get along. Hughes is a young boy with an old soul. He has vision that you just don't see in a lot of young players. He always plays with his head up and doesn't try the Hollywood balls. As a player who always looks to retain possession, he should be capturing the attention of Hodgson. The ability to hold onto the ball is a vital quality at international level, and that is why England have been undone so many times by the top teams. If given the chance, young players like Hughes could be the remedy to that.
