10 Footballers You Completely Forgot Signed For Chelsea

7. Didier Deschamps

Often termed as nothing but a 'water carrier', Deschamps finds himself harshly rated by many football fans. Whether that's because he didn't do anything flashy and simply let others get on with taking the glory is another discussion entirely.

In terms of his time in the Premier League, Deschamps is certainly in that bracket of players who you can easily forget ever stepped foot in the English game.

Chelsea brought him to the club well before Roman Abramovich was even a name anyone in football had heard of, but he still had little to no impact on the Blues in his one year spell.

Deschamps had won the World Cup with France as captain and made in excess of 100 appearances for Italian giants Juventus, but he just didn't quite suit the fast paced style of the English game.

You can't really deny the fact that Deschamps had a massively successful career when you look at his trophy count.

You also can't deny that he's way down the list of midfield players that pop into your head when asked to name some of Chelsea's finest from over the years.
