10 Footballers You Completely Forgot Signed For Chelsea

8. Mo Salah

The youngest Premier League fans around today will see Mo Salah as the poster boy of the top flight and one of the finest players in the league. Rightly so too, given his form for Liverpool in the last three years has been nothing short of breathtaking.

What some of those younger fans won't realise is that they are seeing a player who is a far cry from the out of sorts, lightweight winger we saw at Chelsea back in 2014.

Salah was signed by Chelsea after impressing against them for Swiss side Basel. His pace, energy, and ability to drift past players with ease on either flank caught the eye of the Blues' scouting team.

However, and in simple terms, he just never got going in a Chelsea shirt.

A handful of appearances coupled with loan spells at both Fiorentina and Roma saw the writing on the wall for Salah after only a year with the Blues.

It's amazing to think that Chelsea were the ones to give him his chance in England.

Liverpool fans on the other hand won't care one bit as they continue to enjoy the brilliance of their Egyptian master.
