10 Former Newcastle Players Who Criticised The Club

9. Nile Ranger

Not many Geordies will take too much heed of criticism from ex-players, but if there was one person whose comments would roll right off their back, it is from Nile Ranger. It is a shame that the 23 year old has carved a reputation as more of a criminal than a footballer, amassing more arrests during his career than goals for Newcastle United. He has been kicked out of three football clubs already, and it speaks volumes that the only side to touch him with a barge-pole this season was the notoriously desperate Blackpool. While at Newcastle, Ranger took to Twitter following the club€™s 2-1 home defeat by Reading in January 2013 to share some pearl of wisdoms.
''If you are loyal fans. Be with us. Be the 12th man. Don€™t come and boo. That ain€™t going to help any1. We are a team u boo 1 player€ Ur booing all of us!!!€™€™ - Nile Ranger, January 2013.
So did the supporters value the message that their renowned thug was trying to express?
''The parasite cannot even turn up for training on time despite earning thousands of pounds of our money each week. He denounced fans for showing what they thought of the debacle at St. James۪ Park.۪۪ - Thomas Askew, The Mag.
Thought not.
