10 Funny Spurs Stories From The Premier League Era
10. Qu Bo's Name Request
Back in 2002, Chinese international Qu Bo joined Spurs on a ten-day trial during pre-season. The striker, who was 21 at the time, had been playing his football in his native China and had arrived off the back of an impressive World Cup with his national side. However, having made an impressive debut against Crystal Palace in a friendly, Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle revealed a rather humorous fact about the player:
Young Qu Bo wants to be called Kevin - don't ask me why.
The striker requested that his team-mates address him by the English name Kevin! It was all in vain, however, as work permit issues meant he didn't end up signing for the club.
