Lionel Messi is the king at Barcelona and nobody is going to dethrone the Argentinian magician any time soon. This is no 'Game of Thrones' style monarchy that can be manipulated or changed. Lionel Messi rules the Nou Camp and no player is ever going be top dog at Barcelona while he's still lacing up his boots. Over the last few seasons, world class players have learnt this the hard way. Those who accepted the status quo and adapted to the system which was designed to get the best from Messi reaped the rewards. Those who didn't were sold. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Sanchez and Yaya Toure all failed to contribute enough support to Messi and were sold. Currently, Brazilian superstar Neymar is failing to hit the heights for Barcelona as has struggled to adapt to his supporting role and with Suarez joining the team, this is one issue that might tear the club apart this season. It is highly unlikely that both Neymar and Suarez will accept the role of just simply supporting Messi. Both will want to elevate their careers and put their World Cup pain behind them, especially Suarez who is reaching his peak and won't settle for anything less than star status. It remains to be seen if all three can work together but Lionel Messi is still the main cog in this Barcelona machine and that might just prove to be the double edged sword that stunts Barça for another season.
