10 Greatest Newcastle United European Moments

1. Fairs Cup Glory, 1969

Newcastle fans know that year off by heart, as it remains the last trophy they've won (not including the Intertoto Cup!). Captain Bobby Moncur's two goals helped the Magpies to a 3-0 win over Ujpest Dozsa in the home leg, before scoring again in Hungary in a 3-2 win. They were the only three goals Moncur scored in his 12 years on Tyneside! In their first season of European competition, Joe Harvey's men returned home with the trophy - something they've not managed to repeat. The Toon Army have been waiting long enough, hopefully it won't be another 45 years until the next one.
