10 Hardest Man To Ever Play For Spurs

2. Dave Mackay

It's a tough call between the top two (and, if you're a Spurs fan, you'll know exactly who's coming next), as these guys were absolutely hard as hell on the pitch, but Dave Mackay comes in at number two. A left half and, in his later playing days, a sweeper, Mackay had an all-action style and a never-say-die attitude that was almost unrivalled on the pitch. Not only that, but he could play - a factor that was often overlooked due to his image as a tough guy who was renowned for bone-crunching tackles. He was a key player in the double-winning side of 1961 and, in in total, he won one league title, one UEFA Cup Winners Cup and three FA Cups during a nine year spell at White Hart Lane between 1959 and 1968. Mackay was a Scottish international and is generally considered to be one of the best players to have ever worn the white of Spurs.
