10 Hardest Man To Ever Play For Spurs

1. Graham Roberts

The amount of blood and sweat that Graham Roberts gave to Tottenham Hotspur is undoubtedly second to none. Roberts was a capable defender and midfielder who played for Spurs between 1980 and 1986 and he won two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup with the club. In fact, in the 1981 FA Cup Final success over Manchester City, Roberts lost two teeth after having them kicked out in an accidental collision with team-mate Chris Hughton's boot, but he nonetheless refused to leave the field. In defence, he was tough in the tackle and hard to get past and, in midfield, he was tenacious and a real enforcer and leader. When asked who his hardest opponent was, Roberts simply replied "I never worried about them being hard as I was hard myself". Images of Roberts will blood pouring from cuts and gaps in his teeth have made him a tough guy legend at White Hart Lane - and rightly so. He is undoubtedly the hardest player to have ever worn a Lilywhite shirt. So there you have it - the ten hardest men to ever play for Spurs. Did you enjoy this article?
