Standing at an impressive 6'4", and tipping the scales at 16 stone, Peter Schmeichel is one of the hardest men to have ever played for Manchester United. The Great Dane was a mountain of a man, and wore specially-made XXXL shirts. He used his dominating physique to scare the living daylights out of anyone who dared enter his penalty area, and was uncompromising in closing those players down, putting his head where others would be afraid to put their feet. It wasn't just the opposing team who would be intimidated by Schmeichel - more than a couple of Red Devils players received one of his trademark rebukes for not marking their men properly, and the legendary goalkeeper was certainly not afraid in making his feelings known. Schmeichel gave absolutely everything for the cause, and if ever there was nothing for him to do in goal, he would bomb forward for corners and hurl himself into the mix - most famously against Bayern Munich as we won 2-1 to clinch the 1999 Champions League crown.
