10 Hardest Men Who Ever Played For Chelsea
9. Dennis Wise
At 5'6", England international Dennis Wise never stood much chance of winning his midfield duels by physicality alone.
What he lacked in stature, though, he more than made up for in tenacity and fighting spirit, the same attributes that took him to football's highest level despite a level of technical ability that would, putting it mildly, probably have seen him fail to make the grade at Barcelona's La Masia.
Opponents - whatever their standing in the game - hated coming up against Wise, mainly because he spent 90 minutes snapping at their ankles (and, occasionally, their knees) in his efforts to win the ball back for his side.
If you played against him, you knew you had been in a match (even if you probably could have taken him in a scrap, if it came to it).
