Arguably the best manager in the world currently, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was linked with Manchester United before he chose to return to his former side after leaving Real Madrid last summer. Sir Alex Ferguson previously hinted in a documentary about Jose Mourinho that he could have succeeded him at United, enjoying many trophy-laden years in charge, but when the Scot eventually retired in 2013, Mourinho was said to only have eyes on Chelsea. The Portugese boss said he was privy to Fergusons impending retirement months before it was officially announced, and that he told the 72-year-old that he will instead be going to Chelsea. However, a book (Prepare to lose: The Mourinho Era) released in Spain, written by journalist Diego Torres, suggested that the 50-year-old was in tears after David Moyes was appointed as manager. Torres book says: When (Mourinho) learnt (sir Alex Ferguson) had chosen Moyes, Mou was incredulous. He screamed: But hes won nothing! Considering how Moyes reign went, Ferguson may well have regretted overlooking Mourinho.
