10 Liverpool Players Who Started With A Bang

4. Fernando Torres

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkckKFO5BSo For a man who was the quickest player to reach 50 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League era, some might be surprised that Fernando Torres had just four goals to his name by the beginning of November 2007. The Spanish hotshot finished the season with 33 goals in all competitions, however, and while he took a couple of games to bed in and become acclimatised, his initial introduction to the English game was one to remember. He made such an impression on his Anfield debut against Chelsea, that not only had he the Anfield faithful singing his praises at the full-time whistle, but he possibly laid the foundations for a £50 million move to the capital three and a half years later. Latching on to a Steven Gerrard through ball - a pattern that would become synonymous with the ruthless duo during the Spaniard€™s time at the club - he dragged the ball past Chelsea centre-half Tal Ben-Haim before arrowing a low finish across Petr Cech into the bottom corner. Cue pandemonium. The game finished 1-1, but Torres had made his mark. The next time he set foot on the Anfield turf, he bagged another couple of goals - although the opposition was significantly weaker, as the hapless Derby County succumbed to a demoralising 6-0 defeat.
