Spurs have lost four home games in the Premier League this season - as many as any other team in the division - against Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Newcastle United. What all of those matches have in common is that they came directly after a Thursday night Europa League match and they're all matches Spurs should be winning. There is clearly a link between the two events. Spurs obviously aren't performing to the best of their abilities at the weekend when they've played a midweek match in Europe and that has to improve. Spurs may only have a couple of Europa League games left, if they were to lose to Fiorentina, but they may also have nine left if they make it to the final and there are other cup games that will come in midweek as well. They have to learn to deal with the rigours of competing on multiple fronts.
