Only ahead of McLaren on titles won, Williams is the second most successful team in Formula One history.

Spearheaded for many years by Sir Frank Williams, the team saw all of its success in the '80s and '90s, winning all their championships between 1980 and 1997. 9 championships in 17 of the most competitive seasons in the history of the sport is not bad going for the plucky British team.

The 1980s saw a hotly contested team of Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet duking it out for the drivers' title. While both lost out to Prost in '86, Piquet gained his final driver's title in 1987 and both years the team won the constructors' thanks to Honda turbo power.

When Honda left to go to McLaren, Williams started a partnership with Renault, and it was this partnership that led to the team's most fruitful period. Between 1992 and 1997, four different drivers brought them five Constructors' Championships and four driver's Championships.

In recent years Williams has struggled. They have not properly challenged for the title since 2003 and have only one race win since 2004, that coming in 2012. They are a fading giant of the sport, but deservedly second on this list.

Constructors' Championships: 9

Wins: 114
