One of England's potential opponents, Blas Pérez is one of several relatively old players in the Panamian squad. His professional career started way back in 1998, which is the same year that one of the World Cup's most exciting young stars, Kylian Mbappé, was born!

A talented forward, Pérez is the third most capped player in the history of the Panama national team, with 116 appearances so far and a respectable return of 43 goals for his country. Along with 36-year-old Luis Tejada, he's one of Panama's biggest goal threats and the England defenders will need to keep an eye on him in their group stage clash.

Pérez has enjoyed a long career playing for over a dozen clubs all around North and South America, including some time spent in the MLS, and has proven to be a consistent goalscorer at almost every club he's ever played at. It's fitting to see a player of his calibre and experience being rewarded with a World Cup appearance before his inevitable retirement in the not-too-distant future.
