Two years prior to his move to Chelsea, Arsenal were looking at Didier Drogba. The striker was playing for Guingamp at the time, where he scored 24 goals in 50 games, earning himself a move to Marsielle. A year later he was at Chelsea, but during those Guingamp days Wenger had the chance to sign the Ivorian. The players agent spoke with the club, but no concrete offer ever materialised for Drogba. He went on to become Arsenals nemesis, scoring against the Gunners no fewer than 13 times during his time with Chelsea. Powerful, fast and a goal-machine, who knows what Drogba could have achieved playing for Wengers side.
