10 Players Everton Should Regret Not Signing

2. Muller

What a signing this would have been for the Toffee€™s, especially given their awful sides in the nineties. Having just landed striker Daniel Amokachi, they looked certain to be adding World Cup winner Muller to their side, with manager Mike Walker going as far as to call a press conference to announce his signing and debut against QPR that weekend. However, things quickly turned sour as the Brazilian turned up at the club but then left an hour later in the most bizarre of circumstances. Rumour has it that he hadn€™t been informed that he would have to pay tax on his £20,000 a week wages, something he wasn€™t best pleased about, nor would he be receiving the free car or house that he had been promised. He then flitted about clubs and later became a pastor, finishing his career with 114 goals in 335 appearances and leaving Evertonians to wonder what might have been had they signed this World Cup winning striker, who would have certainly brought a bit of South American flair to the dark days of the Mike Walker reign.
