10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Everton

1. Andy Johnson

Another English striker who suffered at Goodison Park after relative success in the Premier League was Andy Johnson. Back in 2004, the bald-headed forward was a bit of a wonder in the Premier League for Crystal Palace, managing to score 21 goals in 37 appearances for the Eagles despite their subsequent relegation. That led to him being one of the most talked about players that campaign, and later joined the Blues for a then club record fee of £8.5m and reportedly became their highest earning player on £40,000 and linking up with his good friend James Beattie in Everton€™s new forward line. Although he scored on his debut against Watford, he failed to replicate his Crystal Palace form at Goodison Park, with his time at the club being plagued by accusations of diving, with Jose Mourinho labelling him untrustworthy after a game in December 2006. Those accusations were coupled with inconsistent form and the failure to form a partnership with James Beattie, leaving Everton to sell him to Fulham in 2008 and Johnson to join the long list of failed Everton forwards.
