Weirdly, Daniem Amokachi is considered a bit of a Premier League legend, despite not actually being that successful at Goodison Park. Nicknamed The Bull, Amokachi made his name during the 1194 USA World Cup, where the 21 year old looked highly impressive for Nigeria. His club career had also been mildly successful, with 35 goals in 81 league appearances proving good form for Club Brugge in Belgium. Those goals and that World Cup prompted Everton manager Mike Walker to pay £3m for his services, and make him one of his key signings in the process. Unfortunately for the Nigerian, he was brought into a team that was entirely lacking in confidence and seemed unable to do anything right. He would go on to score just 10 league goals in 43 appearances for the Blues, with two of those coming in the infamous game against Tottenham where he wasnt actually supposed to be on the pitch. He was later sold to Besiktas for £1.75m but his career never kicked off and he retired in 2005 after scoring just 19 goals in 77 appearances for the Turkish giants.
