The 21-year-old who was more than likely lying about his age, and the first of several strikers on this list who probably wish theyd avoided Goodison Park. Before his move to Everton, Ibrahima Bakayoko has been impressing in France with Montpellier, where his short three-year stint had led to him scoring 25 goals in 76 appearances. That prompted a whole host of clubs to take a look at him, including Arsenal, as at 21 years of age he represented a decent investment for the future. His form prompted manager Walter Smith to pay £4.5m for his services in October 1998, and at the time many Evertonians regarded it as a decent piece of business. How wrong they were, as the forward went on to make just 23 appearances and score just seven goals, with fans affectionately referring to him as Baka-joke-o. Everton soon got rid the following year, managing to get back £4m in a deal to Marseille, where he would score 34 goals in 115 appearances over a four year stay, probably leading him to wonder where his career might have gone had he stayed there and not moved to England. He now turns out for Stade Bordelais after spells in Spain, Italy and Greece.
