10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving Everton

4. Francis Jeffers

Tony Marshall/EMPICS SportTony Marshall/EMPICS SportJeffers left Everton in 2001 for Arsenal after scoring 18 goals in 49 games for the Toffees. This may not seem terribly impressive, but this was era in which mid-table mediocrity was a huge success for the Merseysiders. Another success story of the academy, at least in terms of transfer revenue, Jeffers failed spectacularly at Arsenal and everywhere else thereafter. In a 186 appearances for Arsenal, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton to name a few of many, Jeffers scored 22 goals. We'd rather Peter Schmeichel up front.
