10 Players Spurs Kept For Too Long

1. Bongani Khumalo

"Who?" That's what you're probably asking about Bongani Khumalo, but the fact is he has spent nearly four years at White Hart Lane and is still there now. "Is he some kid?" No, he's 28 next month! Which makes the fact he's still at the club even more insane. Khumalo signed for Spurs a couple of days before his 24th birthday from South African outfit and Spurs' affiliate club Supersport United in January 2011. He had performed well at the 2010 World Cup in his homeland and Spurs took a chance on him after he impressed on trial. He hasn't played a single game for the club and has been loaned out to the likes of Preston North End, Reading, PAOK and Doncaster Rovers. He didn't really impress even at any of those levels. He's now back at Spurs, nowhere near the first team and earning money for nothing. They should have actively tried to get rid of him a long time ago. So there you have it - ten players who Spurs kept on their books for too long. Did you enjoy this article? Do you agree with the entries on this list?
