10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving Spurs

6. Jake Livermore

Media Image LtdMedia Image LtdNow, it's not as though Jake Livermore's career has gone wrong since he left Spurs - he was something of a bit-part player for the club and the loan spell that led to his recent permanent move to Hull City was a success, as he became one of their most important players in the Premier League - but the fact is that he is such a huge Spurs fan that he must regret that he didn't truly make it there. A moment that emphasised Livermore's love for his boyhood club came in 2009. He had scored his first goal for the club - a header against none other than Barcelona in the pre-season Wembley Cup. In a post-match interview, when he was asked by a reporter "what is it like to score against the best team in the world?", Livermore simply replied "score against the best team in the world? I play for them." This endeared him with Spurs fans in a big way and they regret him having to depart as much as the player himself will. Livermore also earned his first England cap at Spurs - back in 2012 - and he hasn't earned any since, but that could easily change if he keeps impressing at Hull - he's only 24 after all.
