7. Steven Caulker
Cardiff MediaJust less than one year ago, Steven Caulker left Spurs for a Cardiff City club record fee in excess of £8 million, in order to join the Welsh capital city club in their first ever Premier League season. The young defender was 21 at the time, had recently broken in to the Spurs first team, had earned his first England cap (scoring in a defeat to Sweden) and represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games. Many people thought he had a bright future at White Hart Lane and it was something of a surprise - as well as a major coup for Cardiff City - when he chose to move to Wales. Unfortunately, despite an impressive season on an individual basis (he played every second of the league season and performed admirably), Cardiff City were immediately relegated back to the Championship, finishing rock bottom of the Premier League with a mere 30 points. As things stand, Caulker is a Championship player. Although there is reportedly interest in the talented centre back from Newcastle United - and indeed Spurs themselves - he will be stepping out against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on the 8th of August as things stand.
