1. Finishing 4th And STILL Not Getting Into The Champions League
As we touched upon earlier, only Spurs could finish fourth and still fail to qualify for the Champions League - and that is exemplified by the fact that they literally are the only club to do so since England was given four Champions League spots. In the 201112 Premier League season, Spurs finished fourth ahead of Newcastle United in fifth and Chelsea in sixth. However, Chelsea (who finished SIXTH domestically, we must reiterate) managed to win the Champions League itself, having finished second in the Premier League in the previous season, which ensured their qualification for the following season's elite European competition and relegated Spurs to the Europa League - a competition their fans are starting to get all too familiar with (and extremely sick of).
