10 Problems Only Spurs Fans Will Understand

2. Ridiculous Injury Proneness

No club has endured an ongoing injury epidemic quite like Spurs over the Premier League era. Starting back in the early 1990s with Darren "Sicknote" Anderton (yes, "Sicknote" was indeed his nickname!), Spurs have had extreme bad luck with injuries, as players like Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Younes Kaboul have suffered from injuries that have persisted and drastically reduced their levels of performance for the club. At the time of writing this article, the club has no less than five first teamers out of action through injuries or ailments - more than any other club in the Premier League (which epitomises the point in question) - and the season hasn't even started yet. Vlad Chiriches is out with a back injury, Sandro and Emmanuel Adebayor are both out with illnesses (with Adebayor suffering from malaria, no less), Mousa Dembele has calf and shin injuries and Kyle Walker has groin and pelvis injuries - and Andros Townsend has only just returned from an ankle injury that kept him out of England's brief World Cup campaign. Fingers crossed that the currently injured players get fit soon and that this season is a relatively injury-free one for the club!
