10 Reasons Real Madrid Are The Best Side In Europe
4. Strength In Depth
To analyse Real Madrid's strength in depth when it comes to European dominance there is no better place to look than their bench for the Champions League final last season, which consisted of Lopez, Pepe, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Morata, Isco and Illara. - all highly accomplished players in their own right, with the likes of Pepe and Marcelo being stalwarts of their international sides. Although Morata has now moved on and Isco appears to be on his way also, Real Madrid have strengthened their side since the Champions League final and now have more depth than ever. The signing of Toni Kroos strengthens their midfield greatly, allowing him to work alongside players such as Modric and Alonso. Their young players have also gained more experience and appear ready to step up to the top level, including the likes of Varane who had a brilliant 2013/14 season. Manchester United, long regarded as the best team in Europe, struggled last season whenever their big stars faced long absences. Equally, Barcelona appeared to have no 'plan B' and seemed to be lacking in depth. Real Madrid's starting 11 is already so strong, often leaving the likes of Marcelo on the bench, but with a couple more high profile signings the Spanish giants will not even be phased by injuries as their depth would be so great.
