10 Reasons Real Madrid Are The Best Side In Europe

5. An Accomplished Manager At The Helm

Carlo Ancelotti is a highly accomplished manager who has achieved great success with different clubs at the top level of football. With a manager of his pedigree at the helm it is easy to understand why Real Madrid were able to turn their immense talent into success last season. After a lucrative career as a player at Roma, Ancelotti has had even further success as a manager. In terms of major trophies, Ancelotti won two Champions League titles with AC Milan in 2003 and then again in 2007. He then moved to Chelsea and won the league and FA Cup double in his maiden season in charge. He was unfairly sacked by Chelsea but went onto have further success at PSG before asking to leave and join Real Madrid. Since being appointed Real manager in June 2013, Ancelotti has led the Spanish side to numerous victories, culminating in winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. By winning the Champions League last season Ancelotti became only the second manager, behind Bob Paisley of Liverpool, to win three Champions League titles. Ancelotti is a fantastic manager and appears to be getting the best out of Madrid's world stars. After some excellent business in the transfer window already, with more set to continue, Madrid look to be in a very good position to defend their titles this season. Differently, Barcelona, Manchester United and AC Milan appear to be going through a period of transition. They all have new managers who are yet to achieve success at their current clubs, making Ancelotti the most confident and accomplished of the current crop of European managers.
