10 Reasons Spurs Fans Should Remain Positive

7. A New Stadium Is On The Way

Spurs' current stadium - White Hart Lane - has a capacity of merely 36000. That is very small for a big Premier League team and is dwarfed by the stadiums of the likes of their Premier League rivals Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United. It is also lacking in modern facilities. Any club with aspirations of Champions League football needs a stadium worthy of that stage and Spurs are set to have one in the next few years. The stadium development includes a public square - which will be located on a raised podium running from the High Road through to Worcester Avenue - redevelopment of the High Road, with a courtyard setting for retained historic buildings and new landscaping in front of the stadium, 275 new houses, a large Sainsbury€™s supermarket with parking, with club offices above, a primary school run by the E-ACT Free Schools Trust in partnership with the Department for Education and Spurs themselves, new offices for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation charity, with state-of-the-art facilities allowing for even greater reach and impact, a Spurs club Megastore and museum, a new ticket office and cafe, in addition to a University Technical College specialising in sports, science and health in partnership with Middlesex University. It will bring in bigger crowds and, therefore, bigger gate receipts, money from naming rights and a plethora of benefits that everyone associated with the club can look forward to enjoying. Essentially, the whole thing is going to be modern, state-of-the art, good for the community and it will look fantastic. Be positive!
