The signing of Paul Mitchell in November - two months prior to the mid-season transfer window - would suggest that the club intends to do some serious transfer business in January. Fans will welcome that because, even though too much change unsettles a team, it's not as if Spurs are doing great to begin with and it's hard to see how any new signings could make things worse - especially if Mitchell brings in players who end up doing as well as those he recruited for Southampton in the last couple of years. The likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Fabian Delph, Ricardo van Rhijn, Mattia Destro, Mauro Icardi, Jackson Martinez and Jay Rodriguez have all been linked to the club and it looks like the new year could be an exciting time for Spurs and their fans.
