10 Sports Deaths That Were Caught On Tape

4. Caleb Moore Becomes First X-Games Fatality

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDSXiCRcSak Hailing from Krum, Texas, Caleb Moore started off his career in extreme sports, racing ATVs when he was noticed by a scout. The scout suggested that Moore try snowmobiling; the only problem was that Moore lived in Texas and there was no snow. In order to learn how to do snowmobile tricks, Moore's father built a special pit so he could train. Caleb's first X-Games competition was in 2010 where he got a Bronze medal in Freestyle. Every year from then on, Moore medaled at the Winter X-Games, taking home three bronzes and one silver in all. January 24, 2013, was an unlucky day for the Moore family. Both Caleb and his younger brother, Colten, were competing in the Freestyle Competition at the Winter X-Games in Aspen, Colorado. Earlier in the day, Colten was injured and separated his pelvis. Caleb's run was even more devastating. On his last jump he tried to do a back-flip, a trick he had performed many times before. This time the front of the snowmobile caught the lip of the ramp and he flipped over the handlebars. The 450-pound machine crashed down on his chest. Caleb was able to walk away from the accident with help. He went to the hospital and they discovered bleeding around the heart. Caleb succumbed to his injuries on January 31; he was 25-years-old. He has been the only person killed in the history of the X-Games.
