10 Things Arsenal Fans Need To Know About Sami Khedira
10. He Has Recently Been Seriously Injured
In November 2013, Khedira tore his knee ligaments, and his rehabilitation lasted for five months and for the first few weeks of his injury, he was unable to kick a football.
Although the incident took place in November, the German national side were worried that Khedira would miss the World Cup, which is not surprising considering the severity of his knee: according to the Daily Mail, he tore both his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in a friendly with Milan.
He rehabilitation went well however, and he returned to play and win the Champions League final for Real Madrid at the end of the season, before flying out to Brazil and, despite picking up another injury, lifted the World Cup trophy with his fellow countrymen.
Nobody can doubt that Khedira has a great medal collection, the only concern that Arsenal fans will need to consider next year is how much impact did Sami Khedira really have in winning those trophies. After all, how long did he spend in the physio room compared to the football pitch?
The last thing Arsenal need is another player who misses half the season with an injury, especially one that will cost as much as Khedira.
