During the World Cup, a little rumour began to gather pace that Arsenal were interested in Real Madrid's German midfielder, Sami Khedira. Naturally, as with all good rumours, everything was made more romantic, and more complex when his side won the tournament. Now conflicting reports are suggesting that Arsenal will either announce the signing today (or at least very soon), or that the deal will be off altogether, and he will head to Monaco as part of the deal to bring Columbian star James Rodriguez to the Bernabeu. It's a testing period for the patience of Arsenal fans who thought the deal wrapped up.
