10 Things Liverpool Want You To Forget About Mario Balotelli

8. Allergy To Grass

You would think that the worst possible allergy for a footballer to suffer from would be an allergy to grass. In fact, you would say that it would be virtually impossible to become a professional footballer if you suffered from such a problem. Predictably, Balotelli had just that issue back in 2011. While the second-leg of City's Europa League quarter-final clash with Dynamo Kiev saw Balotelli's struggles with a bib, in the first-leg he had to leave the pitch at half-time having suffered a reaction from the grass on the Ukrainian side's pitch. Many cynics felt that he simply didn't fancy playing in the unappealing sub-zero conditions, but in fairness to the likeable Italian, it was reported that he looked a little under the weather at the airport when the team flew back to Manchester. Reds fans worldwide will have their fingers crossed that the Anfield turf doesn't have that kind of effect on him.
