2. Cheerleaders
What? Do I really need to explain this choice to you, what oh ok then Cheerleading is a big deal in America. Girls want to be cheerleaders they have competitions for cheerleading and every pro NFL team to collage team have their own cheerleaders. Basketball has cheerleader hell if ice hockey wasnt so cold Im sure they would have cheerleaders in that too. Ok now beyond the whole attraction to semi naked girls things cheerleaders in America do boost the crowd getting them to cheer at key points and give everyone a bit of light entertainment at halftime. Face it would you rather watch a silly halftime penalty crossbar challenge deal or even a band no one has heard off or could you last 5 minutes of dancing with some fit talented athletes? Ok gonna try and sound less pervy now I know cheerleading has some rather harsh sexual connotations but these girls do great work for their team. For example in the NFL they act as mascots going on local TV and radio to drum up support for a big game and in recent years teams cheerleaders have been over in London promoting the NFL games that take place at Wembley. They all seem so happy too and they are not one slightly offbeat person dressed in a giant animal suit most of them are normal girls just with a few layers of painted on tan and bright white teeth. Cheerleading is a very American thing mind like calling jam jelly or driving on the wrong side of the road so maybe cheerleading wouldnt work as well over here. Maybe people would proclaim its demeaning to woman but really cheerleading is a bit of fun a mix of dancing, of crowd support and lets be honest if we had cheerleaders in the Premier League we would all be waiting for the inevitable kiss and tell story of a cheerleader with one of the top players.
