10 Things We Learned From Week Two Of WWE's XFL

9. Tackling Was Much Improved Over Week One

Teams in the XFL had very little in the way of proper reps before the league's opening week kicked off. Training camps had been soft on tackling, and that (combined with the understandable lack of cohesion amongst new teammates) made for some soft play.

What a difference seven days can make.

Most teams didn't even practice tackling before Week 1 due to fears over injuries, and it showed. By Week 2, all that rust had been shaken off, and it was possible to see significant improvements in pass rush; QBs barely had time to think before they were facing the prospect of hazardous sacks, and that sped up some of the snaps.

The benefits of competitive football and practicing for plays against teams they'd watched was there for all to see. If last week sometimes felt like NFL pre-season, then Week 2 had an air of the Playoffs about it.
