10 Things You Can Only Experience At A UFC Live Event

1. The Speed Of The Sport

If you think you've experienced the speed of the UFC on television, think again.

The only true way to know how quickly things unfold is to see it live. That's when you realize the camera angles, close ups, and replays have been spoiling you all these years.

There is simply no way to do justice to how quick a fighter like Cub Swanson moves, when all you have is the naked eye tracking the action. Describing that is like painting a hurricane. You can capture parts of it, but never faithfully convey the whole. Whether he's besting Doo-Ho Choi in a Fight of the Year or falling to Frankie Edgar for the second time, Swanson is fast as lighting with his creative striking, from cartwheel kicks to combinations.

Swanson is far from alone, just an easy example. Regardless, if your impression of the UFC is a couple of lumbering heavyweight brutes, think again. The Tank Abbott days are long gone, and the modern era has some of the finest athletes in the world throwing down in the octagon. They are incredibly fast, incredibly powerful, and often rely on muscle memory, which means they're moving quicker than even they realize.

All in all, seeing that live is pretty darn impressive!
